So much help from my khmer buddy… lol!
After downing a glass of extra joss, i saw my colleague preparing her hot water drink with some black seed… i asked what is it in english, she doesnt know but she said its “Kruap Gee” or something like that in Khmer… another staff whose pregnant said it’s good for the health…
So yeah, i did try it out and it’s not so bad at all! it feels like jelly or something and tastes like tapioca pearl (sago)… this is way better than the ‘sago” they sell at the grocery… Speaking of grocery, i once saw the same thing at Lucky, i’ll probably check it out what’s it called in english, i’ll let you know!
In a place where you’ll see numerous population of French people and interesting numbers of spell-bounding colonial houses, It’s not surprising that a French-made energy drink is also available here in Cambodia. This country was once known as “French protectorate of Cambodia” btw.
Truc de Fou is a French word which means “Crazy Thing” or “Crazy Stuff” (I really thought it was some Vietnamese drink because of the word “Truc” which is pronounced “Chook” which i really dont know what it means 😀
It’s brand name tells something about it’s taste — CRAZY! among all the energy drink that i’ve tried, this one’s epic… it’s citrus, probably Vitamin C-rich drink again (i cant really tell how much because it’s ingredients section is in FRENCH), it taste gingery (yeah GINGER), there is a woody or barrel taste in it which is weird 😐 I personally rate it 2.5/5…
1$ a can (25cl) at Angkor Store near Toul Tom Poung
Check this paintball video from Truc de Fou’s facebook page
Energy Drink = Extreme Sports = Paintball… EPIC!
